Joany Carrasco

Background

Joany Carrasco was born and raised a New Yorker who lived in Puerto Rico for about 5 years
and is presently living in NJ. Joany or “Jo Jo” as she likes to be called by family and close friends has allowed the use of her skills and capabilities to help others. This includes self-starters,
entrepreneurs, and small business owners. Throughout her work experiences, she has made it a point to learn as much as she can, build computer skills, and acquire knowledge that would assist in making the job easier, more productive, and fun for those around her. During her life experience, she has encountered people from various backgrounds and cultures. She states, “I enjoy finding answers or resolutions for various situations or circumstances.” She is an excellent listener who allows people to speak their minds without the worry of judgment or critique and a fast learner of new technology and policies. Jo Jo loves working almost to the point of being called a workaholic but has learned the meaning of balance. “To be useful in helping others, we also need to balance work and rest,” is a mantra she tries to follow.

Jo Jo enjoys building long and lasting relationships with previous employers, co-workers, and personal friends. She has worked in the medical industry and has interacted with doctors, nurses,
hospitals, and drug reps. In the non-profit, she has interacted with sponsors, vendors, teachers, counselors, & colleagues. In the holistic industry, she has had the honor of interacting with
practitioners, organizations, and institutions (yoga, massage therapy, acupuncture, reiki, and other alternative treatments). Jo Jo has also worked with people virtually as a business consultant (creating business plans and proposals), administrative assistant, and coach reminding them nothing is impossible if you just have faith.

Jo Jo’s favorite verse is 1 Corinthian 13 (This verse has been her lifelong journey as a Christian):

13 “If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
